The 29th edition of Cersaie welcomed over 81,000 visitors to the Bologna Fairgrounds for this year’s international exhibit where trend-spotting is serious business for industry leaders. And the more than 1,000 exhibitors did not disappoint. Cersaie 2011 told more than one color story, introduced interesting design concepts like ceramic rugs, went back to basics with terra cotta, and more. In addition to increased recycled content in a number of lines and the growing use of recycled glass, manufacturers showed off more monolithic slabs, irregular shapes and ¾”-thick porcelain that can be dry laid over grass, gravel, dirt or sand.
